About RAMCO
Empowering Recovery. Strengthening Community.
RAMCO is more than a nonprofit—we’re a movement committed to showing that recovery is possible. Based in Dayton, Ohio, and certified as a 501(c)(3) organization, RAMCO was created to support individuals and families as they overcome the challenges of substance use and mental health disorders. We exist to provide hope, connection, and lasting change.
Our Story
RAMCO was founded in response to the escalating opioid crisis in Montgomery County. As overdose rates climbed and confidence in traditional recovery efforts began to waver, the need for a more visible and community-centered approach became clear. RAMCO emerged to fill that gap uniting local recovery clubs, behavioral health organizations, and families affected by addiction and mental health challenges. Built on the power of community and connection, RAMCO exists to bring hope, support, and real resources to those on the path to recovery.
Our Mission
To promote community engagement, provide support, and establish enduring, positive transformations.
Everything we do is rooted in this mission—from large-scale public events to one-on-one support and education. We work to build a more compassionate, informed, and recovery-ready community.
What We Do
RAMCO hosts two free annual recovery celebrations that serve as powerful entry points for connection, healing, and resources:
Healthy Recovery Celebration (July)
Recovery Month Celebration (September)
These events feature:
On-site access to treatment and recovery programs
Mental health and addiction resources
Educational tools for individuals and families
A safe, supportive space with food, entertainment, and family-friendly activities
These are not just events—they’re lifelines. Many attendees take their first step toward recovery during these celebrations, while others find support and understanding in ways they never had before.

Support for Families
RAMCO recognizes that addiction and mental health challenges affect not just individuals, but entire families. We provide resources and a safe environment where families can talk openly, learn from professionals, and support one another without judgment.
Why It Matters
Our work is rooted in the belief that no one is too far gone, and everyone deserves the chance to recover. By bringing people together and offering free access to care and community, we reduce stigma, build hope, and make recovery visible.
